Tip Jar

I know this is a little unorthodox.  However in this brand new world of new media new ways of doing things are being created all of the time.  Since a good portion of my time is doing videos that are not paid for by a client, I thought I would put out a “tip jar” to see what happens.

A good example would be my “I Am the Mob” video.  I went to that rally last August to shoot a story and show whomever would listen that the Tea Party “Mob” were friendly, ordinary folk who were concerned about the growing deficit.  I had no idea that the video would be picked up by HotAir.com, Breitbart.tv and that I would be interviewed by theBCast.  That video has had almost 45,000 views since August of 2009.

That all sounds great, but since it wasn’t made for a client, and since I don’t put ads on my videos, I didn’t make a dime. (I think YouTube does though)  Don’t get me wrong, the exposure was great!  In fact that video changed everything for me and started me on a path to more political involvement, and yes, more videos.  Some paid for, most not.

So, all I’m saying is, if you like my work and want to help pay my bills, I would really appreciate it!  It’s not required.  It’s a tip jar.  Throw in a few bucks if you like.  The money will be claimed as income.  I will pay taxes and tithe on what I receive.  I’ll also pay my rent and bills.  Since my business is a for profit company, your gifts are NOT tax deductible.  Sorry about that.
